CHICAGO WOMEN TECH FOUNDERS TELL THEIR STORIES TO BRING DIVERSITY HOME
Chicago, IL, January 27, 2015 – In an effort to diversify Chicago’s tech industry, today’s top women founders are launching a two-part tech competition to inspire future female founders on January 27th at 1871, in the Merchandise Mart. The first event, WTF Live! Women Tech Founders Unplugged will launch with hundreds of local college students viewing the live filming of local Founder/CEO storytellers. Storytellers include: Desiree Vargas (Give Forward), Kadesha Thomas Smith (CareContent)and Mariela Santori (Let’s Play Please). Jill Salzman (Founding Moms) and Nicole Yeary (Ms. Tech) will also play prominent roles in the competition.
Women Tech Founders, is a nonprofit organization created by four Chicagoland Founders/CEOs: Terri Brax (TeacherCare), Sharon Schneider (MoxieJean), Bradley LaRocca (Missing Button Entertainment) and Riana Lynn (FoodTrace). The organization has been immediately supported by industry leaders including: 1871, TechNexus, Meet Advisors, Meyer Law and Ms. Tech.
