Food is Freedom
Food is freedom. It is not by choice but by design that women and minority farmers are at extraordinarily and shamingly low percentages of farm ownership.
At the height of Black land ownership in the 1920s, 1 in 7 farmers were Black. In 2017, less than 2 of every 100 farmers were Black. But the country as a whole must do a small shift back to small sustenance farming to mitigate #inflation.
Here’s a profile on some preservering black farmers by John Deere and the rapid change in ownership: https://lnkd.in/gkVmvYFU
